Food Market Photo     (Sep 2007)

Q:   BEVERLY:   Years ago, when I was on vacation in New York City, I happened to go into a little family-type food market that was located near the south end of Central Park. On a wall in the rear of the store was a gallery of autographed 8x10 photos of a couple of dozen celebrities, sort of a miniature Hall of Fame, and there you were, front and center. I took a picture of the wall and I think the photo of you was between those of Margaret Whiting and Placido Domingo. Does this sound at all familiar to you?

A:  TERESA:   “Yes, it does! You are probably talking about Klein’s, a neighborhood food mart in midtown Manhattan. It was a couple of blocks from our apartment there. Placido Domingo used to live across the hall from us and Margaret Whiting’s apartment was in a building across the street. She still lives there, I think. The photos on Klein’s wall were of people who were customers of the store.”
