Singing for Candy in Toledo?
Q: ARDATH (Victorville, CA, USA): My parents owned a restaurant on Stickney Avenue in Toledo just before the depression. My father used to tell me that you as a little girl would come in, sit on a stool and sing for him. He loved that big voice coming from such a little girl. To thank you for singing to him, he would give you some candy. Whenever he heard your voice on the radio, he demanded silence till your song was finished and would always recall his memory of you on his barstool. I would love to thank you for giving my dad such a beautiful memory.
A: TERESA: "Thanks for your very sweet note. It brought back fond memories of my childhood in Toledo."
