Teresa Answers Your Questions
"Little Miss Dynamite"?   (Oct 2005)

Q:  "Pookie196":   Were you ever known as "Little Miss Dynamite"?

A:  TERESA:   "No, I don't think so. It does sound familiar, though. Maybe it was what they called Brenda Lee. People often confuse the two of us. I don't know why. It might be because we're both belters and are not tall. As a matter of fact, each year on the Today show during the holiday season, the Brenda Lee song 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' is played at some point and Katie Couric has said at least twice that she thought it was me singing!"

Additional notes:  Brenda Lee is known as 'Little Miss Dynamite.' In fact, that is the title of her autobiography which was published a couple of years ago. As part of her nightclub and concert act, Brenda Lee asks the audience to shout out requests for her to sing. Somewhat regularly, mixed in with such Brenda Lee hits as "I'm Sorry," "Sweet Nothin's" and "Emotions," is the request for her to sing "Music! Music! Music!" -- and Brenda, good sport that she is, sings it as if it were one of her own big hits! Another Teresa Brewer-Brenda Lee connection: About ten years ago, polka-king Jimmy Sturr won a Grammy for his album "Gone Polka." Special guest artist Brenda Lee sings two songs on the album, and the two songs are both Teresa Brewer hits, done polka-style: "Music! Music! Music! Polka" and "Ricochet Polka"!
