|"Heavenly Lover" / "The One Rose" (Jul 2005)|
Q: JACQUES (Montreal, Canada): You surely are the top singer for me! I appreciate so much "Heavenly Lover" and "The One Rose." For such a long time (1959), I would like to know if these two songs meant something special to you? Thank you so much.
A: TERESA: "Those are both pretty songs. I don't remember too much about 'Heavenly Lover,' which I think was a medium-sized hit. I think it was originally an Italian song and we recorded it when English words were written. 'The One Rose' is a beautiful song and it was a big hit long, long before I recorded it. It's particularly special to me because it was the favorite song of my husband, Bill (Monahan)."
Additional notes: The Italian version of "Heavenly Lover" was entitled "Al Chiar Di Luna Porto Fortuna" and was a hit in Italy before an English version was written for Teresa to record. "The One Rose (That's Left in My Heart)" was a #8 song for Bing Crosby in 1937. Teresa's versions of "Heavenly Lover" and "The One Rose (That's Left in My Heart)" both made the best-selling charts in 1959.
